An anonymous federal prosecutor said, “Jeffs and Karr fit quite well into this culture and it allows us to avoid the great expense of trials for both.”
Discussions with Jeffs and Karr have led to plea bargains. According to my sources, both men are excited about the possibility of serving the United Nations.
Koffi Annan commented that both will make valuable additions to the United Nations culture of rape and pedophilia. However, he also lamented that he did not know how sharp either’s graft skills might be. Said Annan, “Graft and corruption may be something we need to teach them to create a fully functioning United Nations representative, one capable of rape and pedophilia and simultaneously accepting under the table money for selling their victims as sex slaves on the open market.”
“All these training goals will take time of course,” Annan added.

That's horrifying. Seriously. I know it's a joke...but it's not far from the truth.
I agree with Jenn, it's NOT far from the truth. Sad state of affairs our UN is in.
I remember the first post I read of yours, about the old lady in the nursing home with the rainbow sticker on her wheelchair. I didn't realize it was a satire at first and it totally gave me pause.
Hmmm, maybe the UN should consult with the Vatican?
How do we face and correct these problems in our governments, world leaders and prominent national figures? It's beyond my understanding how things like this can happen. Really. I just don't get it. As for what to do about it... I am not sure I know that either. I guess in my view, each of us can be the best self we can be and take responsibility for our own actions. Then, wherever we are and things are happening that are wrong, we can act in a moral way by speaking up or not participating, etc. That or castration (of them).
Steve,
Very thouhtful comment.
I've always admired Annan, but I don't admire the United Nations or their so-called peacekeeping forces. Did you ever see a movie called No Man's Land about the struggle between Serbia and Croatia? How about Hotel Rwanda, not to mention the author's own account of his experience? The world gets crazier; our government is no longer viewed as a competent force to solve crisis, and the UN often takes the chicken route out. I did respect them when they did their searches of Iraq, but I guess they weren't too convincing, hence their weakness as an authority in a world going bad. We live in some scary times.
Oh, geez. Dumb bunny. It's a satire. I didn't see that part. Ignore my last comment. Gosh, I am so simple.
