Next Time

Have you burned any brain cells deciding what you would be if you could come back to earth a second time? I say burn brain cells because it may well be a useless enterprise to engage your brain in that thinking. Some belief systems say we do come back to earth again and again. Others of course talk about heaven and thrones and streets of gold.
Well....I'm gonna burn my brain cells here and yours too. If you want all of your remaining brain cells, stand down................

I have told my wife on several occasions that I would come back as a major leaugue baseball player. That decision is based on a life long love of the game. However, my second choice is more reasonable because I could keep doing it most of my life and that may make it better than being a player. Perhaps the coolest job on the planet is to be a baseball play by play radio announcer.

It would be even better if I could choose the time period. I would choose the 1950'- 1980's period.

Yesterday famed sports announcer Curt Gowdy died and caused me to realize he had actually lived what I would choose if I could come back and have a second 'do-over'. Maybe when Curt comes back he can take my place as an architect and he will hand over his headset and microphone to me!

How about your do-over? What would you be?

I can't believe I forgot about being a Playboy photographer in the 60's! Hmmm.......maybe I could do that in the off season!

I would want to be an astronaut! Seriously. I would want of course for it to be safe, but going to the moon and back has got to be a remarkable experience! Then I will write a book about going to the moon.

what a question! I could not imagine what I would be.
If I were able to come back, for the do-over, I would want more than two. Imagine the options! But, Of course, these are your rules. Here is a question, can we carry the experiences of our past life in our memory? If not, how would I know if I have already done this? Just a thought.

I would come back as Short Order Cook. I have always liked their "kitchen slang". And, do not get me started on their memory....

Well, since we can't choose our parents, maybe we can't choose the do over either; even if the the other cultural believes are correct. Maybe your do over is the opposite of what you have been all about 'til now. you know, putting some balance back in the system. Hmmm.

I started laughing a litle because so many of us lack knowledge of what we are actually about....therefore how would we know the opposite had occured? I wonder too if I were a baseball broadcaster would I be hoping to be something different still....maybe an eternal unease until that one great day when we decide to just be happy with who and what we are today?

Right again, Rick. My grandmother would tell me from time to time that you never see youself as others see you. Even if we think we have a handle on who we are, you can be off 180 degrees. I think now she was saying, "Do the best you can with what you've got."

couldn't I just spend a year being a woman, just to actually understand what it's like...and then have my bits back please?

Mobile fish,
A year!!!!!! If I were you I would rent out the bits to a woman looking to be a man....a little commerce can't be bad...of course then you might not know where your bits had been over the course of a year!

Good God, I spelled it wrong. Rehabilitationist? Maybe...I don't know.

Anyway, it's caring for wild and/or orphaned wildlife until it can take care of itself...then they get released back into the wild.

So far, I haven't had any tigers or lions or bear (oh my)...but I have rehabbed about 6 gray squirrels, several turtle doves and two mockingbirds.

(And a partridge in a pair tree...;)
